This is a great place. The woman running the place is friendly and very helpful. She will wave to me as I walk down 26th Street - no laundry, just walking by. Now, the place itself is quite small, and yes, almost claustrophobic. However the prices are so ultra reasonable here to have your laundry done, it would be foolish and a waste of time to do your own laundry. No need to provide detergent and softeners (as in some neighborhood laundry places) and the results are great. They also do excellent dry cleaning, one day service. I can't imagine any downside to this place and highly recommend it. Try it -- you will appreciate the good service and reasonable prices.

I needed a place to do my laundry at, and I found this small shop, located about five minutes away from the place I'm living in! It's nice and easy; all you do is pack your laundry up in a bag, have it weighed, and then let them them do the rest! They even fold it for you, it's really nice. The prices are pretty dang cheap, too; I believe my load was about 7lbs, and the total was about $10.50? I believe it's $0.70 per pound, but I can't remember. The people working are super nice and friendly, and the shop itself is well maintained; it's tiny, sure, but this is NYC, and it's not like you really stay or wait in there. So, yeah, overall I was very pleased with my experience and if anyone needs a cheap, simple laundry service, I would recommend KD Laundromat(or is it 217 Laundromat? IDK, either way, go here!).

Very kind girl, I dropped off my clothes in the morning and came back at 5 pm to pick them up, washed and folded.
It's by weight, $18 for two bags (one 5-pound and one 2.5-pound).
