3 reviewsGreat that it's open 24 hours, but the machines are not clearly marked and they have a method of payment where you use your phone and it holds 15.00 for 2 days for each time you use it. So if you use it for 4 washing machines and you use it 6 times for the dryers you have 150.00 held by your bank for 2 or 3 days unavailable for you to use. Majorly SUCKS!
The $15 hold is not every time you swipe your card. A hold is generated every time the washer or dryer price you use on the same card is above $15. This is a standard way all laundromat credit card are setup.
Example
If you use 20 dryers at 25 cents or $10 the hold will be ONE hold of $15
If now you add a washer that cost $5.75 then the price of those 20 dryers and washers add up to $15.75 or above the first hold. So now a new hold will be generated
So it does not “hold $15 every time you use it”
I understand your frustration but it is the same principle as going to a gas station or any other laundromat.
They will hold money and then return it to you.
Each time I utilize this facility, the public restroom is closed. I'm usually at the laundromat almost 4 hours. Sometimes longer. Not having a restroom for customers is unacceptable. So is not answering phone. I've been trying to contact Alpine to see if I left anything there. I'm extremely anxious about it and no one's answering the phone. This isn't the first time, it's a trend. Do you think someone can get it together and pick up the phone to answer a simple question? I've been a customer long enough to know you really don't have very much to do. Regardless of the time. Especially when cleaning is optional. Employees need supervision with their time management.
This is the worst experience I've ever had at a laundromat and I want to share it so others don't make the mistake of using the facility in the future. I regret returning to Alpine and really wish I'd gone to Walnut Park as usual. Walnut Park is the best laundromat in the area. They know how to
treat their customer's. Besides that, they
actually listen ,and offer assistance, rath.wer
than argue with the customer and make
lame excuses for not helping when the
task(s) they're asked to perform are not only a part of the job description, but necessary to assist the customer with solving the issue. The Alpine employees I spoke to just couldn't be bo1,hered to do anything. Not help me try to locate a bag of laundry, more than 1 load, that I left at Alpine.Either in the laundromat in a bag or in one of the machines. This was just after one of the guys said that he thought they just located my clothes. I was so relieved! But only for about seconds.
When they said they thought they found my laundry, I asked them to take a picture through the dryer door and I'd tell them if the clothes belonged to me.
That was the end of them being helpful and ambitious. The response I got to them taking a pic was a complaint about the time, 3;45 am. I wanted to know what the problem was with that. Since they're open 24 hours, why was the time they were complaining about, relevant? I'm still not understanding the issue with this! What difference does it make?! Besides not having an answer, they still refused to take a picture. Pure laziness. is the excuse, I imagine. I never received a reason. This was after I begged them for help. I explained that I'm homeless and disabled and don't have the money to replace anything . They could have cared less! I really thought they would have helped me. I had no transportation for one thing and was not able to do anything mysef. I couldn't have left if I had transportation. I'm disabled, sick and in excruciating pain. None of that mattered anymore and the "nice " act was nonexistent. They were just giving me lip service while someone walked out of there with my clothes. It was looI had too much laundry to do and wasn't able to keep track of all my stuff. This never would've happened at Walnut Park. What a mistake to go to Alpine. Now I need a miracle. I'm freezing cold and all my decent clothes were stolen from a laundromat with an attendant present 24/7
Good morning Sarah,
You called us around 3:45am after you realized that you left some of your laundry around 9pm. We tried our best to locate your laundry but you insisted that someone else laundry might be yours. You insisted that we take picture of the laundry that were still warm and might be yours. The owner of those laundry left in the dryer, came and picked it up and was folding them. We explained it to you nicely, but you insisted that it might be yours. Then you started using profanity at all of us, adding that you are homeless and continuously cursing at us. It would be nice also, if you knew where you might have left your laundry, etc it would also have been more helpful. Basically we did everything we can to help you, with the limited information you provided us. There was no need to use profanity.
Read the owns response to the $15.00 hold and your wrong my good man. I could just a few who don't hold. And gas stations, yes hold your money.... for 30 min yo 2 hours. No more at your joint its being held for days...unexceptable. especially for those who have to stand on every penny for every hour day week and month of the year. Some ain't got it like that to have $150 kept from them. I'm not attacking you my good man I'm glad to see you care enough to respond. But your info wasn't quite accurate

I wish I could remove the hold all together to make you happy. But this is not an option. Your bank chose to keep the hold for more than 2 hours. You can complain to them. Why give us a 1-star when we have nothing to do with your bank or personal information ? Some hold are return fast and some are delayed due to personal situation !
