Clean. People on site to help. Washers are large. Dryer get hot. It's a nice laundry mat. The big washers cost like 13$ but it's been awhile since I've got to the laundry mat so that might be the going price. I'd go back.

For chemically sensitive people….The washing machines are great, you can sanitize with hot water for free but that doesn’t mean your clothes won’t smell of scented dryer sheets from the dryers! The place used to be staffed all open hours but now you can’t use the bathroom if no one’s there. I find there’s often filth around the rims of the dryers and I have to clean them before use. Even cleaning the drum doesn’t get rid of the scent from dryer sheets. I loved the original owners and happy for them to be able to retire but the place isn’t the same without them. The pandemic has affected staff retention too. It’s still better than other laundromats but not nearly as good as it was.

3 different size washers & dryers which are reasonably priced, magazines and books for you to pass the time while you're closer in the cleaning experience, and they're working cameras in place plus the washer and dryers can either take quarters or you can use a Credit Card/Debit Credit your choice

Response from the owner

Thank you so much! We also accept apple pay and other contactless payment options!

Great place for quick laundry service. I love that you can start a load of laundry and you can have them text you when your load is almost done

Clean place, helpful attendant, no smokers out front whenever I've been there. Big washers seem a little spendy, but big dryers are less than I expected, so it's a wash. (Ha!) I didn't see dedicated disabled parking or an automatic door or a wheelchair ramp, so a little challenging for some disabled.

Very nice laundromat. It's clean, and has a friendly staff and efficient machines that are quick and affordable. I go about twice a month and usually get 2 loads done in under an hour. The vibe is nice too, quiet, and the clientele is friendly.

Best laundromat in Portland! Machine will text you when it's almost done so you can have a pint at Horse Brass while you wait!

Response from the owner

Joshua, thank you for taking the time to write a review! We appreciate our customers and want to provide a very reliable laundry experience.

Great big machines and very little wait time if you go in the morning. Their soap is expensive! But if you forget your soap you can always go next door for a $5 half gallon of arm and hammer. The bodega next door is run by sweet folks, too.

Update:
It's super weird that their reply to my 4 star, happy review, was to remind me to be grateful that I'm allowed to bring soap at all. Why would you remind your customers to be grateful for your service? I'm not obligated to be greatful for your service or give you a good a review. That's earned. You can't shame me into liking you. I'm updating this review to three stars for the manipulative reply.

Also, I've literally never heard of a laundrymat requiring that you buy /their soap/. That's rediculous. Can you imagine the allergic reactions people would have to strange soap if laundrymats did that? It's a such a strange farfetched idea to say laundrymats would require you to use their soap. You know that's obviously made up if you've gone to any laundrymat ever, cause none of them do that.

Response from the owner

Thank you Antigonus, for your review! Yes we have soap on site, at least we let our customers bring in their own soap of choice! Unlike other laundromats that limit your cleaning needs.

I posted a review giving Belmont Eco Laundry just 2 out of 5 stars. That was reasonable for a year or so, as the new owners were deciding, apparently, what they were going to do to bring Bel Eco back to its 5-star status. They certainly accomplished that, and -- ftr -- some time back. Just saw my old review and wanted to make clear the revamped space has, now, even more machines and is maintaining all machines as efficiently as had been the case for many years. As always, though, the staff is exceptionally good: there is almost always someone there to answer questions (like the payment options for the machines), to assist problems with the machines, and go above and beyond to make sure the clients are happy. They also now have a separate wash & fold option for those who don't have time to do their laundry themselves. In short, this is back to being the best laundromat I've ever used.
