I stopped by Crown Cleaners hoping for help with a broken zipper, and was warmly greeted at the door by the gentleman behind the counter. Without hesitation, he took a look and quickly fixed what I feared might be the end of my one nice coat. Not only did he help me out of a bind, but he also humbly refused any compensation.

That brief interaction gave me more than just a repaired zipper, it renewed my faith in kindness and humanity. It's clear that small business is still very much alive in Seattle, and exceptional service continues to thrive at Crown Cleaners. He’s absolutely earned my loyalty, and I’ll be bringing all my coats here in the future for cleaning.

I've had enough of the lack of transparency at this place. Prices are never posted, and every visit seems to come with a different charge. They routinely decide—without informing you—that your garments require "special" services, and the receipts provide no breakdown, just a total amount and number of items. It's impossible to tell what you're actually paying for.

Most recently, I brought in shirts for Wash & Press, which they’ve previously charged at $3.75 each. This time, I was charged about ~$5.50 per shirt, plus tax. When I asked why, the staff said some shirts "require manual pressing"—even though these were the exact same shirts I’ve brought in several times before without issue. I asked why that changed, and all I got was a shrug and silence.

This kind of opacity isn’t acceptable and it's like this every other time at least. If you care about price clarity and consistency, I’d strongly recommend going elsewhere.
