100 reviewsI’ve done my laundry here 6 times now, and every single time I get home I find spots of dirt that weren’t washed out. I’ve bought spray on stain removers and new detergent in an effort to finally clean my laundry, but today was the last straw when my load finished and I found that my clothing was only half wet. I asked the attendant for a refund so I could wash my clothes elsewhere and she refused (although she did allow me to use a different machine for free). So now I’ve spent twice as much time today for clothes that are half as clean. Extremely dissatisfied and will not be back.
I’ll check with the attendant and audit the machine you were using. I’m glad we offered to let you use another machine but I know that makes for a long day.
Considering our water settings, I can’t understand how the clothing would only be half wet. I’m sorry to suggest the machine may have been overloaded. At your new location I’m going to recommend you split your load or use a larger machine. Half wet and spots that don’t come out indicate there’s no room in the machine for agitation.
For our top loaders, the dry weight of the clothes should not exceed 14lbs. Our larger machines can handle 40lbs and we have a 60lb machine.
If that’s not the case for your situation, I’m sorry I don’t have a better suggestion. And I’m sorry to hear about your experience at our store.
$2.75 for washing, $0.25 for 7 minutes of drying. Wash cycles are about 35-40 minutes per load. Wi-fi would be nice to do ho.ework but there are chairs to sit and read and a McDonald's across the street if you're hungry.
Thanks for the posting Sarah. We appreciate it. The store does have free Wifi. Password protected with the password visible on the office door window. Sorry that wasn’t more obvious.
Awesome laundromat. Super clean. Nice machine. The girls who work here are amazing. One of the machines was off an I didn’t realize, I put a couple dollars in and then realized. They were so sweet the refunded me and were even offering me laundry soap. So kind I had to leave a review
Thank you very much for the kind review Jerek. We really put a lot of work into keeping it clean. We know that's important to you folks who want to walk out with clean clothes so a clean store seems like a natural extension of that. And I'm especially glad to hear how amazing our team is.
Machines are big, clean and they work very well!!! The only downside to this place is the price but in Seattle what else is new!? …
Thanks for the rating and comments Phosphurus willy. We're pretty excited about all the machines, big and small, in the BIG room. They're all pretty new and work extremely well. … More
I have been coming here for about 7 years now. They are the cleanest and most affordable quality machines around. No HE, but I have never lost a garment to a machine here.
The place is clean but the wash prices are outrageous! 5.50 per load! For a small washer!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and review Lisa.
Not disagreeing that the cost of a small washer is $5.50 but we do think it’s a fair price and we think you’ll notice that there are very few laundromats in Seattle. This is the price just to maintain the business. If it were “lucrative”, there would be as many laundromats as coffee houses.
Urban water prices are not subsidized like water outside the city. When you visit a wash house with low washer prices outside an urban area, it’s no doubt a town/water district with subsidized water.
We don’t think $5.50 is crazy though in the perspective of what a person gets ….a full week, 7 days, of clean cloths. A simple burger and drink from down the road is almost $10 and only satisfies for a few hours. 7 days vs 6 hours of utility and those clean clothes make you feel better each day you put them on.
We also appreciate that Seattle has the 3rd highest minimum wage in the whole country, provides sick leave for team members, and WA state has chosen to use property taxes, in lieu of income taxes, to pay its bills. That means our laundromat property taxes fund the state instead of the folks with higher incomes. (Furthermore, we are taxed to ‘highest and best use’, meaning our taxes are even higher than they should be for a small laundromat because they want the building converted to a multistory apartment building which pays even more property taxes.)
What we do provide with that price though is a SAFE and CLEAN environment and a STAFFED store. There is always an ATTENDANT in our store. A number of laundromats are unattended (to save on cost) so their machines are not maintained or cleaned. You don’t know if you’re about to use a dirty or broken machine.
You can also feel SAFE in our store.
We are there, in the store, with you. Always available for questions and to help.
We know $5.50 is a big number but it’s the necessary number to maintain a laundromat in Seattle and we also think that it’s a fair price for everything that you get.
Why is the quarter machine only giving dollar coins when the machines only take quarters and then the machines claim to be cheaper if you use debit/credit but it’s actually a quarter more. Scamming the customers
Sorry that's confusing Angel. The stickers on the machines say the debit/credit is more expensive than cash....just like a gas station. There should be a sticker on each and every machine communicating that. … More
Plus: big machines that work, clean environment, free wifi, no loiterers, dryers can be used in increments of quarters instead of requiring full price. …
