***knowingly deceptive instruction for payment leads to frequent overcharging/under-providing***
***without prior experience using the app, it will charge you for extra wash features that you wanted, while not providing them***
***this is knowingly not explained in the app or on displayed signage despite numerous complaints over a period of time***

I used this laundromat in the past with great experiences every time. This is my first time in a year or more and they now have a mobile payment option. I tried it, and here was my experience -

I downloaded the app and read the associated signage posted in the store, along with all in-app instructions. They simply state to select your machine number(s) and the options you would like. I entered this info (Hot wash, extra rinse, heavy soil, as my garments strictly needed these options in both machines) and then I made my payment via the app, for a total of $22 ($11 per machine).

When I went to verify the machines had turned on, I saw that they had but at the lowest cost settings (lowest temp water, no extra rinse, no heavy soil) and now my garments were all locked inside of these two machines, washing at settings they shouldn’t have been, that I paid to avoid.

The friendly cleaning staff member informed me that this is an ongoing issue, despite numerous customer complaints, and calls / reports from staff and customers to management. They were very kind and apologetic but unable to do anything to resolve the issue or issues refund.

This is a blatant scheme, if management is trying to reduce their hot water cost and make an additional few bucks off of many customers. If it truly is unintentional, it is ignorant as they have been informed countless times.

I still have to wait out the time on the machines so they unlock that way I can rewash all of my garments with the appropriate settings. Yes, I only lost a few bucks tonight. But I’ve also lost an additional 35-40 minutes of my time.

If you come here, avoid the app, it doesn’t even function correctly to show you your order status / remaining wash time…and if you’re not careful to preset the machine before using the app, you’ll be paying more and getting less than a desired with hot/extra rinse/heavy soil washes.

Ultimately, I would recommend not supporting any business which knowingly deceives its customers just to make an extra buck or two per customer.
