93 reviewsDon't rely on their official hours in the morning, the staff is often up to an hour late to open up. Don't leave your laundry unattended - the staff will remove your laundry into a ( sometimes dirty) cart, dropping things on the floor and so on. Staff is often pretty sassy too, washing their own laundry and kicking customers out for that. Homeless people have their hotspot one block away and often come to hang out or wash. In addition, they raised their prices three times in the last 9 months. Most expensive laundry in the area - not worth the money.
Hi Isabelle - I'm disappointed to read this review as I hope our staff is never "sassy" and customer service is certainly something everyone on our team takes seriously. Unfortunately, much of what you have written is inaccurate and I would like to correct that.
First, our prices have not increased 3 times in the last 9 months. Prices have been increased once in the last 2 years when we purchased new machines at the end of 2016. The increase was modest and I know that we are not the most expensive in the area.
As for the removal of laundry, we usually leave it untouched unless another customer requests to use the machine and we ask them to wait a few minutes after the cycle is completed for someone to return and move their own laundry. We do expect people to promptly remove their laundry so that other customers may use the machines and don't believe that warrants a low review. Furthermore, we do clean our carts naturally with white vinegar and our store and machines are cleaned daily, however, it is constant work to keep things clean and cannot always be perfectly clean with so many customers coming in and out.
Finally, yes, there are homeless at the library down the street which is something we cannot do anything about. Occasionally they do laundry at PSL, however, we have a 'no loitering' policy which is prominently displayed in the laundromat, and we do not allow anyone - homeless or not - to hang around if they are not doing their laundry. Perhaps you mistook a legitimate customer for a homeless person "hanging out"?
It sounds like you had a bad experience, but many people love our laundry and the improvements that have been made to the space over the past year and I hope that you'll reconsider your opinion of our laundromat.
It's small, clean and convenient. The woman in charge was helpful and respectful. The customers cleaned up their mess when they made one which was very helpful since there was only one person there to clean the whole place. I like it a lot.
Thank you for your support and being a honest consumer, we are a small business do our best to service the area .
Probably the cleanest laundry I have ever been in. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly.
Thank you Jennifer! We are slowly working on upgrading our machines and services as well and look forward to your continued patronage.
Hours are constantly changing with no apparent logic. I cannot rely on this place anymore. Please, somebody else, open a competing laundry place across the street. We in this neighborhood need a reliable place, not a joke of a business!
Was not open at indicated hours. A couple other ppl came by while I was standing there and said one day they didn't open until noon. Completely unreliable, can't imagine what they'd do with my clothes.
Hi David - I apologize that you arrived and we weren't open. As noted on our website and the signs at the laundry we do currently have periodic closings due to the city's replacement of water lines and gas lines servicing our building. We do our best to inform customers of late openings and closings due to the construction in the area as well as at our property as we have been renovating the laundry and are also upgrading the machines.
We are also a small staff comprised mostly of single mothers and occasionally life happens and we are 10 minutes late. We ask our customers to be understanding of this and feel the type of staff we have makes our laundry service better - we are NOT a chain - we provide personalized service and with that comes adjustments in the attitude of our customers. We are a neighborhood place that goes the extra mile on laundry and we try to get to know all of our customers. I feel that it is something our regular customers appreciate.
We certainly hope that you decide to give us another chance and know that you will be happy with our service.
Thank you!
Expensive, $4.50 to wash, and tight quarters in general. the machines are lined up on one wall and the dry cleaning is in the opposite corner.
There is only one wheeled basket. The dryers are right behind the machines less than 2 feet away, which sounds great in theory when you are dealing with mobility issues like I am, but I noticed that because it is not an open space (more like a narrow hallway) people are brushing past you physically to pass you. You have to make an effort to make space and some gross guys like to try to take advantage of this to get close.
The cameras are not motion activated and seem to go off randomly.
I had someone mess with my clothes twice there because the dryers don't lock only the washers do, and throw a couple of their stinking things in with mine, causing me to have to rewash clothes that had dried.
The change machine is often broken too.
I made the mistake of being there at 9:01PM. The lights literally shut off on me. I thought a staff member would show up and at least ask me to clear out. Nope. No grace period here. My clothes were on their last 5 minutes drying. I had to grab my stuff and walk out in the dark.
Also staff will be in the dry cleaning section having inappropriate conversations. Last time laughing about supporting Human Trafficking, how it is not their fault and how people get what they deserve. What?! That was the last straw. You are not getting my business.
Thank you for your review , i understand your concern, for all above mentioned was totally false information. The camera we have used is ring , what make you think go off ? The cost wash is $4.5 / load , have you ever think about the water bill / rent / labor etc . We have never experienced others put their clothes to other people’s dryer , how you get this ? You saw others’s clothes? You think this way maybe you want save money and did this to others that we did not aware of .
This is businesses we close at at 9 pm , last wash is 7:30 pm so you should get out before 9 pm , of course the lights / door will be off by then .
You mentioned about the worker said something, this is serious accusation, please do send the evidence, the worker only have the conversation with dry cleaning service for the service which you had mentioned other direction, you are only wash your clothes by yourself, how you heard this .
Any way , you are welcome not use the service, good luck found other laundry mat to serve you better 。
Our location is in central square, Cambridge, sorry , we do not have a huge space for you .
Great experience with drop off: efficient and friendly
The owners are super kind and generally great people! Laundry machines work great as well!
Thank you so much for your fair, honest review.
Their washing machine ripped my laundry for the second time! The manager said they have nothing to do with it and told me never come back!
I have been using the laundry machines here for over two years now. The first time my laundry got ripped was when the management changed. I told that to one of their employees and she only told me there is nothing she can do about it. She also said it is not going to help if I talk to the manager. Ok, since this is the first time this happened over a long time, I won't blame them.
The second time was with a new staff. She took all my stuff out of washing machine when I was putting another load into the dryer. She said there are people waiting to use THE washing machine, while there are apparently two others available at that time. I wasn't happy about it because I know how my socks get hidden in the machines sometimes and it is likely to lose one or two without attention. And that happened!
Worst of all when I finally started to put that load into the dryer, I found my towel got so dirty. I thought that it came from the towel being dragged on the ground when she took my stuff out. But she insisted that it's coming from being stuck in the washing machine. She didn't want to fix the dirtiness so the manager came to talk to me. The manager said it is what it is unapologetically and put detergent on it and flushed my towel in a dirty sink. In the end I wasn't able to take a picture because he cleared the evidence. The manager handed me that towel with a lot of residual detergent on it, and said he did me a favor by "cleaning it" in the dirty sink. I asked him if it's possible to wash it with the washing machine to at least get the detergent off. He said, “I already removed the mark so no, nothing more I will do, and just don't come back ever again!”
You had clearly put too much clothes in the washer. Also when you close the washer machine door , your clothes was jammed in the door when you close the door as too much clothes. Please note the washer machine has a capacity, Also if the machine problem, why only happened 2 times during 2 years that you had used . Thanks
